Initial Consultation and Testing
During the initial consultation, Dr. Jean carefully and thoughtfully examines the face of the patient to determine the most appropriate brow lift technique. He discusses surgical options, preferences for anesthesia, and what one can expect from the surgery. He also gives an approximate cost for the procedure and reviews the medical history to ensure that one is in good health for the procedure. Dr. Jean may also order blood tests to make sure that the skin and overall health of the patient are suitable for the procedure.
The Surgery
Marking and Anesthesia: Before the brow lift performed, Dr. Jean marks the incision sites around the temples or in the hairline. Then, he administers local anesthesia to the patient. The latter covers the forehead area. This way, the patient is sure not to feel any pain during the operation. Additionally, mild sedation can be provided for comfort preference.
Incisions and Adjustment: Next, our surgeon makes very precise incisions on the hairline. Through them, he is able to lift the skin that is hanging, cut off any extra skin, and move the brow up so that it appears young again. By doing this, he is able to smooth the forehead and give the patient an “awake” look.
Closing the Incisions: Finally, Dr. Jean closes the incisions with stitches and tightens the skin. It helps to get a smooth finish. The whole procedure usually lasts 1-2 hours, based on the complexity.
